TESTIMONIALS
I have traumatic brain injury which causes double vision, focusing problems, and sensitivity to light. I saw several specialists and was told my only option was surgery. I did not want surgery, especially as a TBI patient. I found Dr. Tran. Dr. Tran restored my vision and quality of life through her vision therapy. Dr. Tran’s holistic approach is quite refreshing and effective. In addition to her specialized skills, she is also very energetic and personable. Dr. Tran is a pleasure to work with.
I could feel her love for people, passion for optometry, and her desire to make people healthy. Her pleasant personality and the ability to be a champion in her attention to detail about my needs and friendly smile makes her one of the best eye doctors I have had serve me and one of the greatest eye health clinicians I have seen. I would like to add that myself and my mother both benefited from Dr Tran’s many positive attributes: hard-working, good attention to detail, thoughtful, care, and good rapport with everyone. I am appreciative of Dr. Tran for her friendly and exceptional care.
Vision Therapy works! My son has been seeing Dr. Tran over the course of about 4 months and his vision has improved to the point where the task of reading has become effortless. He no longer has to re-read a sentence. Dr. Tran was easy and fun to work with and was able to put my shy kid at ease. She never puts pressure on and that’s probably why my son was so willing to participate. Dr. Tran is the best. I wish more people would explore Vision Therapy to improve reading and learning issues.
Your commitment to your patients is evident in your work. Approachability, care, and compassion can’t be taught and either people have it or they don’t. And you’ve got it. I’m grateful and lucky that you shared those gifts of yours with me. In part so I can get better but more so, because you are an exceptional model of patient care that I hope to bring to my practice.
I so appreciated your time and expertise today. You have not only expanded my understanding of my vision, but gave me food for thought about how it is connected to other systems in the body! And threads to follow as well.
I look forward to working with you in future.
I have been blessed to have found Dr. Tran. For many years, I’ve struggled with being able to enjoy a book for long periods of time as reading, it would be physically taxing. I have been fortunate to have found Dr. Tran’s practice, she is very kind and an expert in her field. She has helped me navigate throughout this process of correcting my vision. I feel so much more at ease now when reading or performing complex task on a daily basis :).
Dr. Tran changed my life. A year and a half ago, I fell off my horse and suffered a brain injury. The majority of the lasting symptoms were vision related, with severe light sensitivity, dizziness and depth perception issues. I was feeling fairly hopeless on ever getting back to being able to do the things I love like going for runs and yoga – and just plain feeling good. After over six months of weekly eye therapy, I feel awesome. I wouldn’t have got here without Dr. Tran. Moreover, she’s given me a healing toolkit I have available for the rest of my life. Standing on the other side of this trauma, I can now see purpose in what I went through. I owe so much to Dr. Tran, who is a true healer.
As someone who has lived with increasingly difficult neuro-visual challenges post-covid infection in 2020–learning about Dr. Tran and her treatments has been nothing short of lifechanging. Since my infection I have had severe problems with walking, driving, reading, and anything that really required use of visual acuity and has progressively gotten worse of the last 2.5 years. Despite heavy neurological, occupational, physical, and medical treatment, I was still just coping with the various symptoms. Her exam is very thorough, and her treatments are thoughtful and planned. Her staff is great–very responsive and quick to help. I now have a plan to treat the various issues I have to help hopefully stabilize my neuro-visual issues and help me get back to some new normal functioning in the real world without fear of eye pain, nausea, dizziness, crashing, falling, etc… If you’re looking for someone to do a deep dive into challenges that may be visually related–she is someone to reach out to– it could change your life. 🙂
My mom and I are so thankful to have met Dr. Tran and Katherine at their Walnut Creek office. We look forward to meeting them again in my mom’s future appointments. When my mom began her vision therapy with them, they were supportive, fun, and collaborative as they listened to her health concerns and goals. The vision therapy gave my mom the strength to approach, cope, and effectively manage her symptoms. Overall, this helped my mom to be safer and independent. Anyone would be so lucky and benefit from working with Dr. Tran and Katherine.
I am so happy to write a review about Dr Tran and the care I got from her and Katherine both. When I came to see Dr Tran, she was hand selected to take over the practice of an optometrist that I had been seeing for years. Changing docs when a practitioner I loved retires can be a stressful situation. However, I really appreciated Dr Tran the minute we met.
She is calm, thoughtful, professional, knowledgeable and cares a lot about me and my concerns. Additionally, she is upbeat and always looks at the best in the situation not in some airy fairy way but rather because she is a positive person and holds to her high ideals.
I happen to have a body where the usual response that most people experience is not my pattern. I fall outside of the norm, am hypersensitive to many drugs others can easily tolerate, and routine challenges can be difficult for my body to manage.
Yet, Dr Tran respected my individuality, went over and beyond to help me, had a bag of tricks outside the usual to recommend, lent me equipment to test so I didn’t have to buy it and always listened respectfully and curiously to see if she could put together some answers for me. She was able to refer me to my perfect opthamologist who was able to further support me in my visual concerns.
At this point, I am quite stable in my eye health which is not the prognosis I was given by several ophthalmologists. That being so, as stable as I am, she still made a recommendation to further my well being. Because my 2 eyes see differently–one near sighted and one far sighted, the consequences can have a challenging effect on my brain. So that even though my vision is fine without glasses, Dr Tran recommended glasses not for my vision but for my brain to integrate. This takes a practitioner who is able to see (no pun intended) that there is more to my well being than just getting my visual acuity working well. Rather it takes someone rooted in wellness care, able to see the bigger picture in health to make suggestions that are not just symptomatically oriented.
In my mind I make a distinction between such type of practitioners. There are many many great technicians who in this case might feel they did a great job once my visual needs became stable. However, it takes a healer to go beyond that and see what is needed, not led by symptoms but rather having the knowledge and wisdom to be preventative. These practitioners I call healers and certainly put Dr Tran in that category.
I am so grateful to Dr Tran for her excellent care and so highly recommend her.
I struggled with some abnormal vision symptoms that my regular optometrist was unable to diagnose or alleviate, so he referred me to Dr. Tran. During my first visit, Dr. Tran ran multiple tests that clearly identified several issues and I was assigned vision therapy exercises. It was very motivating to notice the improvement in both my symptoms and my results of these tests over the months I was seeing Dr. Tran. I felt like my my issue was taken seriously and that Dr. Tran really listened to all of my concerns. I am pleased to say that I no longer have any of the symptoms that I struggled with, but if they were to return, I know who to call!
